Nowadays, people seem to have many causes. These causes are a result of mayhem, destruction, loss, illness, and brokenness. These causes often send messages of condemnation, unforgiveness, and hate. However, I beg to differ.
Jesus tells us in John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Therefore, within this simple blog lies a simple message. No matter what happens in our society. No matter how much heartache and pain we have endured. No matter what injustices seem to concurrently happen. Let us love and forgive like Jesus. Is it easy when hearts are heavy and broken? Absolutely not.
Nevertheless, Jesus hung on the cross enduring much pain and suffering for the sins of world. He hung on the cross for the very people who spit on him. He hung on the cross for the very people who beat the skin off his back. Yet, He petitioned in Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”.
He loved and forgave the very people who took His life. With that being said, we as Christians must love one another as Jesus instructed us in John 13:34-35. That love must also include those who we would rather hate. Jesus loves everybody.
